News — Celebrating Earth Day with Meithrinfa Pontnewydd

On Monday 20th April, M Cwmbran are delighted to be celebrating Earth Day with a very special visit from Meithrinfa Pontnewydd Nursery.

Earth Day is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how we can all take better care of our planet, and this year’s activities are all about supporting local wildlife and encouraging environmental awareness from a young age.

The children from Meithrinfa Pontnewydd Nursery will be getting hands‑on by helping us create Bug Hotels, safe and welcoming spaces for insects such as bees, beetles and ladybirds. These tiny creatures play a vital role in our ecosystem, from pollinating plants to improving soil health, and the Bug Hotels will provide them with a place to shelter and thrive.

The finished Bug Hotels will be placed in Gwent Square, so keep an eye out as you explore, they’re a fantastic reminder of how small actions can make a big difference to our environment.

Happy Earth Day from all of M Cwmbran Centre!
