News — Cwmbran Centre Switches Off for Earth Hour

Originating in Sydney in 2007, twelve years later, Earth Hour is now the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring millions of people to take action for our planet and nature. Coordinated by WWF and other volunteer organisations, Earth Hour’s greatest strength is the power of people.

The majority of daily resources we use come from the environment, so Cwmbran Centre will be participating by turning off its lights to do its bit in protecting the world around us.

Cwmbran Centre’s Operations Manager, Martyn Haftowski, said, “This is our sixth year of participating in Earth Hour as we believe it is incredibly important, not only to raise awareness for climate change, but to also use this time to capture anomalies on the Centre, allowing us to implement future economic and environmental best practices.”

If you would too like to participate in Earth Hour, you can find out how on their website
