Owned and managed by LCP UK, part of M Core, the shopping centre was selected from more than 700 entries from around the world, receiving recognition in the Energy Efficiency Improvements category for its long-term environmental programme, Powering Down: Greening Up.

Over the past decade, M Cwmbran has worked continuously to reduce its environmental impact through a range of energy-saving initiatives, including upgrading to LED lighting, improving building management systems, and closely monitoring energy usage. These efforts have resulted in a 43% reduction in annual landlord electricity consumption, with a further 5.6% reduction achieved in the latest reporting year.

The award highlights M Cwmbran’s ongoing commitment to creating a more sustainable shopping destination for visitors, retailers, and the wider community.

The achievement will be celebrated at a special awards ceremony at the House of Lords in London later this year.

As part of the recognition, M Cwmbran has also been invited to represent the UK as a Green World Ambassador at the Green World Awards in Fiji, while its award-winning sustainability programme will be featured in The Green Book, an annual publication showcasing environmental best practice from around the world.

The Green Apple Awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent non-profit body that has been recognising environmental excellence since 1994.

This latest achievement reinforces M Cwmbran’s commitment to building a greener future while continuing to provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience for visitors every day.
